What Smart Board Camera is

Smart Board Camera is a classroom tool that lets a teacher send photos from a phone to a paired SMART Board display. It is designed for teacher use only.

Teacher accounts

You must create a teacher account to use the app. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for all activity under your account. One teacher, one account — there are no student accounts.

No student accounts — ever

Smart Board Camera does not create, support, or accept student accounts. Students do not sign in, create profiles, or interact with the app directly. If you are a student, do not attempt to create an account.

Classroom photos

• Photos captured through the app are tied to a classroom session.
• Ending or deleting a session permanently removes its photos.
• The app does not maintain a long-term database of student photos.
• Do not photograph sensitive student information (IEPs, medical records, grades with names) through this app.
• You are responsible for how you use captured images within your classroom.

Subscriptions and billing

• The Free plan includes the live camera, scanner, 1 board, and a limited number of sessions per 30 days at no cost.
• The Pro plan ($7/month or $59/year) unlocks unlimited boards, sessions, and AI image generation. New accounts start with a 30-day Pro trial; after the trial, the account moves to the Free plan unless you subscribe. The Free plan remains fully usable.
• Subscriptions are billed through Stripe. You can cancel anytime through the billing page.
• Grandfathered accounts (those created before subscriptions launched) retain full Pro access at no charge.
• We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods, but you will not be charged after cancellation takes effect.

AI image generation

AI-generated images use your own OpenAI API key and are billed by OpenAI directly. Do not include student names or identifying information in image prompts. Generated images follow the same session-only lifecycle as captured photos.

Acceptable use

You agree to use Smart Board Camera only for legitimate classroom instruction. You will not:

• Create accounts for students or non-teachers.
• Use the app to photograph or store sensitive student records.
• Attempt to circumvent subscription requirements or security measures.
• Use the app for any purpose unrelated to classroom instruction.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service running reliably, but we do not guarantee uptime. We may update these terms, the privacy policy, or the app itself. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Limitation of liability

Smart Board Camera is provided as-is. We are not liable for lost photos, missed class time due to outages, or any indirect damages arising from use of the app.

AI and photos

We do not send Phone Mode photos to OpenAI or any AI provider. AI image generation uses only the prompt you type and your own API key — never Phone Mode photos.
